Pemerintah Kecamatan Damai menggelar rembuk stunting mengusung tema “Pemberian Makan Bayi dan Anak (PMBA)” di Kampung Jengan Danum, Kecamatan Damai, Kabupaten Kutai Barat (Kubar) sebagai tuan rumah, Jumat (25/10/2024).

Kegiatan ini kolaborasi Pemerintah Kecamatan Damai menggandeng PT. Pama Persada Nusantara dan beberapa perusahaan lainnya yang beroperasi di sekitar wilayah

Camat Damai Imam Setiadi menjelaskan yang dimaksud stunting adalah ketika kondisi tinggi badan anak rata- rata lebih pendek dari anak seusianya akibat kekurangan gizi dalam jangka waktu yang lama.

“Stunting terjadi sejak dalam kandungan ibunya hingga berumur dua tahun,”katanya.

Faktor penyebab stunting dapat disebabkan kurangnya asupan gizi pada ibu saat kehamilan, saat masa pertumbuhan, infeksi berulang dan stimulasi pisikososial yang tidak memadai.

Berdasarkan data terbaru di bulan Agustus tahun 2024, di wilayah Kecamatan Damai terkonfirmasi stunting sebanyak 22 bayi.

” Data mencatat ada 22 bayi dari dua UPT yang ada di Kecamatan Damai, yakni Puskesmas Damai 15 orang dan UPT Puskesmas Besiq 7 orang balita,”terangnya.

Imam berharap melalui pelatihan cara memberi makan bayi dan anak dapat memberi edukasi kepada masyarakat tentang pentingnya gizi seimbang dengan mengolah makanan yang bergizi dengan memanfaatkan bahan dari pangan lokal yang ada.

Imam mengucapkan terimakasih yang tak terhingga kepada PT Pamapersada Nusantara dan juga kepada perusahaan yang hadir dalam acara rembuk stunting ini seperti dari perusahaan sektor pertambangan dan juga sektor perkebunan.

Menurutnya penanggulangan stunting memerlukan pendekatan komprehensif yang meliputi, peningkatan gizi ibu hamil dan menyusui, memberikan asupan gizi yang cukup dan seimbang agar ibu dapat melahirkan anak yang sehat.

“Kita harus memastikan pemberian Makanan Pendamping ASI (MP-ASI),” jelasnya.

Ia menyebut untuk memastikan anak mendapatkan makanan bergizi setelah enam bulan pertama, pendidikan kesehatan, meningkatkan kesadaran orang tua mengenai pentingnya gizi dan pola makan sehat.
