Bupati Kutai Barat (Kubar) Frederick Edwin dan Wakil Bupati (Wabup) Nanang Andriani menghadiri prosesi Ritual Adat Seni Budaya yang digelar di Jantur Gemuruh, RT 3 Kampung Sekolaq Darat, Kecamatan Sekolaq Darat. Jumat (22/8/2025).
Setiba dilokasi kehadiran Bupati dan Wabup Kubar disambut dengan tarian adat sebelum Bupati dan Wabup dipersilakan duduk di atas pantiq (tempat duduk yang bahan utama terbuat dari bambu dan biasanya digunakan dalam prosesi adat).
Selanjutnya prosesi penyampaian doa – doa oleh petugas adat khusus serta rangkaian prosesi ritual sesuai adat dan tradisi masyarakat Tunjung dan Benuaq.
Prosesi ini merupakan kearifan lokal yang merupakan wujud penghormatan kepada leluhur dan juga sebagai permohonan restu agar kehidupan, pekerjaan, dan karir senantiasa mendapat keberkahan serta terhindar dari hal-hal buruk.
Saat dikonfirmasi Bupati Kubar Frederick Edwin, mengatakan pemerintah daerah berkomitmen menjaga kelestarian adat dan budaya yang berkembang di tengah masyarakat.
Tradisi dan adat istiadat merupakan warisan leluhur yang harus terus dilestarikan. “Kehadiran saya di sini sebagai bentuk dukungan nyata, agar budaya lokal tetap hidup dan menjadi identitas daerah,” pungkasnya.
Terpisah Kepala Bidang Kebudayaan Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Disdikbud) Kubar, Seki mengatakan bahwa kegiatan tersebut menjadi salah satu upaya menjaga kelestarian budaya lokal.
“Ritual ini nerupakan bagian dari tradisi masyarakat Tunjung dan Benuaq. Tujuannya, selain sebagai ungkapan syukur, juga agar masyarakat dalam menjalani kehidupan selalu diberkahi leluhur,” jelasnya.
Seki yang juga merupakan tokoh masyarakat Sekolaq Darat tersebut menyampaikan terima kasih kepada warga masyarakat yang dengan penuh semangat menjaga nilai-nilai kebersamaan dan gotong royong dalam kegiatan adat tersebut.#Ryo.
