Kompetisi Piala Soeratin tahun 2025 resmi digelar oleh Asosiasi Kabupaten (Askab) Persatuan Sepakbola Seluruh Indonesia (PSSI) Kabupaten Kutai Barat (Kubar),Sabtu ( 14/6/2025).Gelaran Piala Soeratin dibuka oleh Staf Ahli Bupati Bidang Masyarakat Dan SDM Yustinus Giri, yang mewakili Bupati Kutai Barat Frederick Edwin, bertempat di stadion Swalas Guna Sendawar.
Bupati Kutai Barat, Frederick Edwin berharap kegiatan ini dapat menjadi wadah penyaluran bakat para pemuda Kutai Barat untuk berolahraga serta dapat memberikan semangat dan harapan baru dalam membangun “Kutai Barat yang semakin Sejahtera, Aman, Adil, Merata, dan Beradat”.
Dalam sambutan yang dibacakan oleh Staf Ahli Bupati Bidang Masyarakat Dan SDM Yustinus Giri, Bupati menyebutkan Turnamen Piala Soeratin adalah ajang yang sangat legendaris dan memiliki makna penting bagi perkembangan sepak bola usia dini di Indonesia.
” Ini adalah kawah candradimuka bagi
lahirnya talenta-talenta muda, tempat mereka mengasah kemampuan, menguji strategi, dan belajar arti sebuah perjuangan,” tegasnya.
Menurutnya ditangan para generasi muda inilah masa depan sepak bola Kutai Barat, bahkan Indonesia, akan ditentukan. Oleh karena itu, kami sangat mengapresiasi tinggi atas terselenggaranya turnamen ini, yang merupakan bentuk komitmen kita bersama dalam pembinaan sepak bola usia dini.
Bupati berpesan kepada seluruh tim U.13 dan U.15 yang akan bertanding. Junjung tinggi sportivitas Menang atau kalah adalah bagian dari pertandingan. Yang terpenting adalah semangat fair play, saling menghargai, dan menunjukkan karakter terbaik di dalam maupun di luar lapangan.
Piala Soeratin 2025 diikuti sejumlah Sekolah Sepak Bola ( SSB) dengan kategori U-13 dan U- 15.
